Working with many relocation clients, I have the opportunity to see the city through fresh eyes almost constantly. Many have sticker shock over the prices of real estate. Yes, let’s face it, space is at a premium so it only makes sense that you have to pay more for less.
Yet, in spite of this fact, I continually find new things to love about this fair city I have called home for going-on eight years. Here are my top reasons to live in the city:
- Where else can you see world class theatre at this level in such a concentrated space. Yes London is amazing, but nothing beats a good old fashioned Broadway musical.
- You can order any kind of cuisine at all hours of the night, and no one judges you for it.
- You constantly run into old friends, and when you aren’t, you are making new ones.
- The architecture constantly astounds me, and I am reminded of the rich history that surrounds me.
- Thanks to our diverse cultural landscape, no where else can you have the best of every type of global cuisine, lovingly made by those who know it best.
- The city is the ideal place to try new things. There is no shortage of unusual and fun classes alike.
- Central park, no explanation needed here. If you haven’t been, I can’t put into words what you are missing.
- Gorgeous churches and spiritual centers on every other corner.
- The subway…just kidding. Although, there is something to be said for the convenience of not having to own a car or pay insurance. Plus you minimize your carbon footprint!
- The people are amazing. New Yorkers may seem tough on the exterior, but they are actually some of the best human beings you will ever meet. Our NYPD is a shining example of this.
Thanks for your blog, nice to read. Do not stop.
